Each MSEA Board member serves on either the Budget & Personnel Committee or the Program & Planning Committee.  Currrent Board member committee assignments are:

JUDICIAL PANEL

With the advice and consent of the Board of Directors, the MSEA President appoints a Judicial Panel that is comprised of five MSEA members who are not Board members.  Three-year terms run concurrently with the MSEA President's term.  Current Judicial Panel members are:

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE

The Legislative Committee consists of two members from the Board, two at-large members, the Executive Director and a second staff member.  Current Committee members are:

committee objectives/roles

 

Budget & Personnel: Reviews monthly budget; considers financial impact of upcoming projects and goals; addresses staff employment and ongoing staff compensation issues (401K, severance, insurance premiums); bargains staff contract.

 

Program & Planning : Helps plan Spring Regionals, Delegate Assembly, member training and workshops; reviews MSEA Governing Documents; brings forth resolutions to the Delegate Assembly.

 

Judicial Panel : Members serve on hearing panels for members accused of misconduct.

 

Legislative Committee: Educates members legislatively, engage and empowers members to take action, identifies current legislative issues and how they affect members, researches and recommends positions on legislative issues, serves as a legislative resource for members, supports MSEA's Mission Statement, devotes time and effort to fulfill the committee's role.
