Jobs Bill Needs Swift Senate Action

Despite the fact that 15 million Americans are unemployed and in danger of losing health care, Congress has still yet to fully act on much-needed jobs legislation. As a result, COBRA coverage for some jobless Americans has run out and states like Minnesota are bearing a larger brunt of paying unemployment claims.

It’s up to the Senate to solve this mess. First, they must take up the jobs bill the House has already passed. That legislation will extend federal unemployment benefits. Second, they must amend the bill to extend COBRA health insurance benefits and send budget assistance (FMAP) to cash-strapped states like Minnesota.

How can you help? Contact Senators Klobuchar and Franken and tell them you want the jobs bill taken up and passed.
