Bargaining Unit dues:
Any bargaining unit wishing to withhold unit dues must authorize such action by a vote of the membership. Unit leaders must then complete and return a Bargaining Unit Funds Deduction Authorization Form to MSEA by June 1st in order to withhold unit dues through payroll deduction for the upcoming school year. Members will pay an annual local due of $12.00 and fair share fee payers will pay $10.20. MSEA will continue to withhold unit dues each year thereafter. To stop withholding local dues, a unit must once again vote on the matter and return an amended Unit Funds Deduction Authorization Form to MSEA, effective for the coming school year.

MSEA bargaining units must then establish a unit treasury by opening an United Educators Credit Union Organizational Checking Account as well as a share savings account, each requiring a deposit of $25.00.

Stipends or wage reimbursements for unit leaders and negotiators must be run through the MSEA payroll once a year. The stipend amount as well as any applicable taxes will be billed to the unit treasury.

E-mail Lynn Jansen at MSEA to request the forms and information necessary to establish a unit treasury.
